ALSO, VALLENATO MASTER. This is a conversation with Colombian singer and composer Isaac Carrillo, a master of the Vallenato music tradition. Carrillo recently performed at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, DC as the lead singer for “Estrellas del Vallenato,” an ensemble from Valledupar, city known as the cradle of vallenato music.
