An interview with Tucson-born Eduardo “Lalo” Guerrero, the father of Chicano music. A 1996 National Medal of Arts awardee, Lalo’s biography has been featured in a recent book entitled “Lalo: My Life and Music”. With seven decades singing and composing music, Lalo has become an icon of the Chicano working class. His song “La Cancion Mexicana” became an anthem for Mexicans on both sides of the border.
